Diabetes and Obesity Management

Our population is changing, and we ignore it at our peril. Rates of diabetes and obesity are climbing, and often additional attention is required when dealing with these conditions to prevent long-term complications.

Talk to your physician about making a referral to a diabetic educator - a specialized professional who does far more than educate. They are well-versed in the newest medications and in troubleshooting the pitfalls of diabetic control that can prevent a heart attack, foot amputations, and more.

We are also fortunate to have a chronic disease management nurse on-site once a week who can discuss with you in detail the lifestyle interventions that will set you up for success. Questions about what your diet should look like, or how cholesterol might impact your cardiac health? Our nurse can help you make sense of how your lifestyle is impacting your health and what changes could be most beneficial for the long term.
